Halloween

Okay, a rules summary for the Halloween game.

Stats: Agility, Brawn, Cleverness, Drive and Perception. Rated from -5 to +5, with average being zero.

Skills: Rated at zero and up.

Task Resolution: roll Stat + Skill + 2d10 vs difficulty. A roll of two ones counts as zero, while a roll of two tens counts as a 25.

If you don't have any skill at all in a skill that requires training, you only get to roll 1d10 and a 1 counts as a zero.

  • Fail by 10+: Botch
  • Fail by 1+: Failure
  • Match difficulty exactly: Tie, Success Level 0
  • Beat difficulty: Success Level 0
  • Beat difficulty by 5+: Success Level 1+ (add +1 to the Success Level per 5 you beat it by)
Hit Points: equal to 10 + Brawn (double your Brawn if it's greater than zero)

Movement Rate: Agility + 10 in paces per round.

Initiative: roll your Reaction skill (which is Per based); highest roll goes first.

Difficulty Ratings:

  • 5: So easy you probably don't need to roll
  • 10: Easy
  • 15: Average/Typical
  • 20: Hard
  • 25: Very Hard
  • 30: Nigh Impossible

If you hit someone in combat, you'll inflict the base damage for your weapon, plus 1d6 per Success Level.

If you are reduced to zero Hit Points, you fall unconscious. If you go negative, you have to roll Drive + 2d10 vs the number of points you went negative.

  • Botch (fail by 10+): you die
  • Failure (fail by 1+): dying (you have several rounds for last words, though)
  • Success Level 0: hang on for an hour, then roll again at +2
  • Success Level 1+: you recover consciousness a few minutes later but are Exhausted until you get back to positive Hit Points.
