Magical Art: Inferno
Inferno magic concerns itself with Fire. Practicioners commonly refer to it as an "elemental" art, and consider Fire to be one of the basic building blocks of reality.
Primary Effects:
- Producing flame out of thin air.
- Controlling and shaping fire.
- Protecting things from the damaging effects of fire.
- Sensing the presence of open flames.
Secondary Effects (-5):
- Producing heat without light or light without heat.
- Extinguishing fires.
- Countermagic vs Ice or Water magic.
- Communicating through an open flame (making your image appear and speak in a particular fire).
- Enabling creatures to survive in a flame-filled environment despite extreme temperatures and lack of oxygen.
- Shrouding someone with an aura of flame that surrounds but doesn't hurt them.
- Cooling an area by draining away heat.
Tertiary Effects (-10):
- Creating fires that don't act like normal fires. For example, ones that only burn a particular substance or which don't consume anything at all.
- Scrying regular events by staring into an open flame.
- Transforming someone's body into a being of living flame.
- Healing burns.
What it can't do:
- Anything that involves metaphorical rather than actual fire.
