The equivalent of Kharakan Giants... huge, lumbering humanoids that are rare and getting rarer. They mostly kowtow to the smaller but more numerous inhabitants of Menagerie, because they know that there are too many to fight. It doesn't help things that they eat more than they can really produce in food here. A few go "rogue" and just live for themselves, terrorizing smaller critters, but most are very family-oriented and can't live like that.
Golems. There are red cabochon gems called Soulstones. These, if implanted in a statue of some sort, will bring it to life... assuming that the gem is large enough to power it. The gem generally needs to be implanted in the forehead or wherever else its sensory organs need to be... it's the gem that does all the sensing. While destroying the gem (it must be visible on the outside, else the golem can't "see") will kill the golem, folks sometimes try to take them out without damaging the gem, so that it can be reused. The ritual of animating a golem includes giving it its orders (usually to "Obey me in all things" but sometimes more specific commands); after that, you're stuck with it unless you remove the gem (requires destroying the statue) and implant it in a new one. The longer a golem exists, the likelier it is to develop some degree of sentience (although it is always bound to its orders) and possibly speech. There might be one golem in Menagerie whom, rumor has it, was ordered to rule itself when it was created, but most folks figure that it just has orders that don't really apply anymore so it can do what it wants. It's an NPC of some fame and while powerful, it's occasionally attacked by folks who want its stone.
Dreamstone addicts. There are these highly addictive dreamstone thingies. They're powered by a bit of the user's life force and place them in a trance where life seems perfect and everything goes their way. This is extremely addictive psychologically... and since they basically injure you when you use them, if you overuse them you'll die. Yes, there probably is a dreamstone spider somewhere... a telepathic "mother" entity that creates these stones to steal life force for itself and which could be found and killed. Dreamstones are extremely valued currency... but most folks have no use for more than one (you can't use multiple stones simultaneously, but you could hide them in multiple locations).
