Cities, Towns & Villages
I'll need to rearrange the map a bit. Since I'm shrinking the "known" setting to a small area, basically just the Verde, I'll have to decide which location ideas are worth salvaging.
- Wardhall: doesn't really work in the new setting, especially with psychic healing powers. Probably gone.
- Manforge: can still be around, but it'll probably be smaller and use less slave labor. Someplace has to manufacture weapons and parts for the Caretakers... even if they don't know what a lot of them are for (those just disappear into the Sacred Hills).
- Zuba City: since the Sacred Hills are kind of restricted, there has to be somewhere where trade and commerce actually occurs. Zuba could be a large and relatively prosperous town near the Sacred Hills.
- League City: the Laughing League will be smaller players now, but they could still exist. There's a militant fort on the edge of the Caretaker's influence that has all but declared independence. It's run by Hyenas and other Breeds are second-class citizens at best.
- Tanglewoods: mice and squirrels love this densely bramble-packed forest settlement. The tanglewoods might be a mutation, or perhaps someone there used a strange psychic power to create them awhile back. Mutation is probably more realistic, of course. Tanglewood is liable to grow elsewhere too, but only around clean rivers with the right kind of soil.
- The Southern Kingdoms are probably right out. There could be rumors about extremely primitive breakaway tribes living in a valley somewhere, but I don't intend to write them up in detail.
